PATHANAMTHITTA: The accused in the Elanthoor double human sacrifice case had dug the pit and waited for the victim for a year and a half. Although Shafi, the main accused, tried many tricks to bring the women to Elanthoor directly and through Facebook, they did not yield any results. It was on one such day when Rosly (49) met Shafi in Kochi city and asked him if there is any 'work' for her. She also told him that she was in need of money. Taking advantage of the situation, Shafi told her that a film was being shot in Pathanamthitta and that she would get paid if she is interested in acting in it. Rosly then came to him the next day.

Meanwhile, Shafi had instructed Bhagwal Singh and his wife Laila to prepare for human sacrifice. They arranged some workers and dug a pit in the compound of the house.

Rosly, who came to Bhagwal Singh's expecting a film shoot, was brutally killed by the accused. They cooked her private parts separately and ate them. After keeping the liver and other organs in the fridge, the accused dumped the remaining body parts in the pit and covered it.

There are inconsistencies in the statements given by the accused in connection with Rosly's murder. Shafi, who is not cooperating with the investigation, has not answered many questions properly. The police are planning to subject Shafi to a polygraph test.

Accused remanded for 14 days

The court remanded the accused in the Elanthoor double human sacrifice case for fourteen days. Mohammad Shafi and Bhagawal Singh were shifted to Viyyur Central Jail and Laila to Kakkanad District Jail.
