THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mayor Arya Rajendran will complain to the police on the alleged letter as per the directive of the party, said CPM Thiruvananthapuram district secretary Anavoor Nagappan. He clarified that there is no point in the internal investigation of the party and the factionalism in the CPM is a propaganda work of the media.
Anavoor Nagappan told a private channel that appointments will be made through the employment exchange to avoid controversy and that there is no need for the mayor to resign. He added that the matter has been conveyed to the state leadership.

The letter written by the mayor in her official letterhead to district secretary Anavoor Nagappan seeking a list to appoint party activists en masse had stoked a controversy. The letter asked for a list of 297 daily wage appointments in the municipal health department.

After her letter surfaced, the UDF and the BJP staged protests seeking her resignation and an investigation. The CPM and the Mayor had the other day stated that the letter was fake and legal action would be taken.
