KOCHI: The accused in the Elanthoor double human sacrifice case, dug a pit and waited for a victim for one and a half years. Though Shafi, the main accused in the sacrifice case, played many tricks via Facebook to lure women to Elanthoor for fulling his desire of eating human flesh and dreaming of the money he would get, it did not yield any results. In between this, Rosli (49) while talking to Shafi in Kochi asked him if there was any work. She told him about her bad situation. Taking advantage of it, he made her believe that there is shooting in Pathanamthitta and if interested, she will get something. The next day she came in search of Shafi.

In the meanwhile, Shafi directed vaidyan Bhagaval Singh and his wife Laila to get ready for human sacrifice. Hired workers to dig a pit. Rosli, who came expecting a film shoot, was chopped into pieces. Took her private parts separately, cooked and ate. Liver and some other parts were kept in the fridge. The remaining body parts were covered in the pit.

There are inconsistencies in the statements in the Rosli murder. Shafi, is not cooperating with the investigation and has not answered many questions. The police are also planning to subject him to a lie detector test.

Accused remanded
The court has remanded the accused to fourteen days. Muhammed Shafi and Bhagaval Singh have been shifted to Viyyur Central jail and Laila to Kakkanad district jail. The three were produced in Perumbavoor First Class Judicial Magistrate Court yesterday. The investigating team will get them in custody again.
