PATHANAMTHITTA: A Plus One student, who was admitted to the hospital due to physical ailments, was found to be pregnant. Following this, the police took her 17-year-old classmate into custody. The girl was found to be pregnant during an examination at the hospital. During the subsequent counselling, the girl revealed that her 17-year-old Plus One student was responsible for the pregnancy. Later, the girl's family lodged a complaint with the Aranmula police.

The girl and the 17-year-old are studying in the same school. They have been friends since April 2018. The first sexual abuse took place during the summer of 2019. Later he came to the girl's house twice and abused her. The police also said that the girl was taken to a building near her house and abused in the months of April and June last. The 17-year-old will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
