KOCHI: The High Court has expressed displeasure over not following the directive to remove the obstructions at the Vizhinjam port construction site by the 7th of this month. Justice Anu Sivaraman inquired whether the concerned parties have no responsibility in implementing the court order. The court issued order regarding this on the 1st of this month.

The advocate appearing for the petitioner Adani Group urged that the protestors' stalling the construction was contempt of court and said that if the state government could not do anything, they should seek central assistance. They also informed that the protest is causing heavy financial burden.

The lawyer appearing for the central government said that the state should seek the help of the central forces along with the report of the special committee chaired by ADGP. The details should be clarified whether the committee has been appointed. He also clarified that the Central forces, which has many responsibilities, will intervene only in critical situations.

The state government has informed that they are remaining restraint as demolishing the pandals will spread tension in the coastal region. The court adjourned the case to next week.
