THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A high-level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan decided to conduct a 'goal challenge' as part of the second phase of the 'Laharimukta Kerala' campaign to be held from November 14th to January 26th. The goal challenge will be held in connection with the World Cup football excitement. Two crore goals are targeted in the challenge.
The program will be organized in local bodies, schools, government offices, private companies, IT parks, bus stands, residents associations, Kudumbashree units etc. 'No to drugs' campaign boards and pictures will be ensured around the goalpost. The post will be prepared in such a way that anyone can come and score a goal whenever they want. A celebrity football match will also be organized.
The Chief Minister suggested that anti-drug vigilance committee meetings should be held once in three months to review the activities and issues related to drug consumption. The Excise Department and Vimukti Mission were tasked to prepare a coordinated calendar by collecting the details of the schemes implemented by various departments and financial allocations.
