THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The staff of the Mayor's office told the crime branch that they do not know whether the controversial letter circulated in the name of the Mayor is fake. They also said that the letter was not prepared in the Mayor's office. The crime branch recorded the statement of Vinod and Girish, senior clerks of the mayor's office section, yesterday.

The investigation team asked the employees about the possibilities of preparing a letter by making fake letter pads. The staff told that the mayor used to send letters on letter pads for various purposes and that it was possible to take a xerox copy of one such letter and use it. The investigation team made inquiries about the number of letter pads and the place where they were kept. The staff claimed that the letter pad was kept in a location where it was accessible to employees. Mayor Arya Rajendran had said in a press conference that she had signed an emergency file received through e-mail while she was in KILA in Thrissur. The investigation team also asked about this method of signing.

Crime branch to record statement of Anavoor Nagappan
