THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF is leading when the results of the bypolls held in 29 local wards were out. The UDF have wrested six sitting seats of the LDF. UDF candidate Razeena Pookode won for 272 votes in the first ward of Kozhikode Kizhakkoth panchayat Elettil Vattoli. The UDF this time won the stronghold of the Left Front in a coup for 17 years. The UDF also captured the LDF sitting seat in Ernakulam Keerampara Panchayat. Meantime, the CPM captured BJP seat in Vaniyakkad division in Paravur municipality. The UDF is presently leading in 15 seats, LDF in 11, BJP in two, others in one.
