THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Action has been taken on the lapses from the side of police in Parassala Sharon murder case. As part of this, CI Hemanth Kumar of Parassala station has been transferred to Vigilance. The action is part of mass transfer of SHOs in the state. 53 police inspectors from the Vigilance and various police stations have been transferred. The order in this regard was issued by DGP Anil Kant today.
Sharon's family had alleged that the Parassala police colluded with the accused in the Sharon murder case. The family stated that the Parassala police conspired to sabotage the investigation and demanded to take action. The main allegation was that the police didn’t investigate the chats of the main accused, Greeshma and they did not try to collect information in the first stage. Following this, the case was handed over to the Crime branch. Meanwhile, Hemanth Kumar's voice message defending the Parassala police was also circulated on social media.
Meanwhile, Museum Station SHO Dharmajith is also among those who have been transferred. Dharmajith was transferred to Anchalummoodu station. The police were criticized for the delay in arresting the accused in the incident of sexual assault on a female doctor in the museum premises.
