THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Department of General Education has prepared a scheme called 'Padamudra' to make history learning easier for students from standard eight to Plus two. The aim is to provide an opportunity to discover and learn about local histories, people and events in an investigative manner. The language writing techniques such as ‘Vattezhuthu’ and ‘Kolezhuthu’, which are necessary for the study of history, will also be introduced. The Samagra Shiksha Kerala (SSK) is in charge of this scheme.
The students of government and aided schools will be included in the first phase. It will be implemented later in unaided schools. Teachers in charge of social science clubs in schools will be trained about the project. After that, a workshop will be organized for the students at the school level. The students who excel in this will be given an opportunity to participate in a two-day workshop at the BRC level followed by a national exposure visit to the district and state workshops. Preference will be given to students who are members of the Social Science Club.
