THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Gopakumar Mukundan, who was additional private secretary to former finance minister Dr Thomas Isaacs, harshly criticized the state government's fiscal policy. ‘The setback suffered in the local governing body polls should be a lesson. The conservative fiscal policy must be corrected', demanded Gopakumar in a Facebook post. The note said 'I have to say this now, details if needed.’ When the results of the bypolls to some local bodies came out yesterday, the UDF gained and the LDF suffered a setback. The Facebook post was in this situation.

Many have come forward for and against his opinion. The literates have started understanding that the government is heading for a destruction. There will be more such explosions. One commented that the original comrades who want the party to survive are deeply dissatisfied with the way the Pinaryi Government is moving.

Weren’t you a staff member of Sr Thomas Isaac. Have you given up your party membership now? Sir, are you criticizing the Pinarayi government on Facebook? This was another comment. Gopakumar’s reply was that he will say that at the right place.

The state is presently going through a severe financial crisis. Following this, severe financial restrictions have been imposed.
