THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM district secretary Anavoor Nagappan said that he gave a direct statement to the crime branch in the corporation appointment letter controversy. He replied he can't suggest how the investigation should be done to the query asking whether an FIR should be filed before the investigation. Nagappan said that the mayor herself has said that the letter is fake. But the crime branch says that Anavoor Nagappan's statement was not taken directly.

Meanwhile, vigilance has launched a preliminary probe into backdoor appointments in the corporation. Vigilance received four complaints after the mayor's recommendation letter for an appointment in the health department of the municipality came out. Vigilance Director Manoj Abraham ordered a preliminary investigation based on this. Probe will be done into the recommendation letters of Arya Rajendran and Standing Committee Chairman D R Anil and backdoor appointments. Thiruvananthapuram Special Investigation Unit- One will conduct the investigation.
