MALAPPURAM: A woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Kadakkankadavu in Nilambur on Saturday morning. Ayesha (63), a resident of Parashuram Kunnu, died.

Ayesha lived alone in an area close to the forest border. There were no houses in the vicinity. They were found dead by migrant workers who had come to work in the rubber plantation in the area. Attacks by elephants are severe in this area. Police and revenue officials reached the spot.
