THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have taken into custody two youths, who thrashed a government employee in the middle of the road for allegedly honking at a traffic signal. The accused are Karamana Kunjalumoodu natives Ashkar and Aneesh. Meanwhile, an ASI of the Karamana station was suspended for a lapse on his part in registering a case in the incident. The City Police Commissioner also issued an order recommending a departmental inquiry against Karamana SI.

Grade ASI Manoj has been suspended. The action was taken on the basis of the investigation report submitted by the Special Branch and Fort Assistant Commissioner.

The incident took place at Neeramankara in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday evening. Pradeep, a native of Neyyattinkara and an officer of the agriculture department, was brutally thrashed by the accused. The visuals of the incident had surfaced online.
