THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Corporation standing committee chairman and parliamentary party secretary D R Anil gave his statement to the crime branch and vigilance in the letter controversy related to the appointment of temporary employees in the corporation. Anil told the investigation team that he is not aware of Mayor Arya Rajendran's letter.
He said that he has not seen the letter. A letter was drafted to appoint Kudumbashree workers. It was drafted only for publicity. He said that he does not know how the letter went out of the office.
Anil's letter related to the appointment at SAT Hospital had surfaced earlier. The vigilance is investigating the letters of the mayor and Anil and the appointments in the corporation in the last two years.
Meantime, the Congress has decided to intensify their protest in the corporation today demanding the mayor's resignation over the letter controversy. BJP councillors will also protest. Heavy security has been imposed in the area.
