NEW DELHI: A youth has been arrested for killing his live-in-partner and chopping her body into 35 pieces and then dumped the parts in many places. She forced him for marriage and the incident happened on May 18 in Delhi. Shraddha (26) was a call centre employee of a multinational company in Mumbai. Her partner identified as Aftab Ameen Poonawala was arrested on Saturday.
She met him while working in the call centre. They later fell in love and started living together. When her parents opposed the relationship, they eloped to Delhi and started living together in Delhiās Mehrauli. A fight broke out between the two on May 18 and in a fit of rage, he strangled her. Then chopped the body into 35 pieces, bought a fridge and kept it in that. He disposed of the pieces at different areas of the Mehrauli forest in the next 18 days.
After reaching Delhi, she did not have any relationship with her family. On November 8, her father Vikas Madan came in search of her. When he found the flat locked, Madan lodged a complaint against the youth for kidnapping his daughter.
On interrogation, he confessed to have murdered her. He revealed that the two fought frequently as Shraddha wanted to marry him. The police have registered a case. The police have started an investigation to find the body of Shraddha.
