THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mayor Arya Rajendran is taking legal action against Jebi Mather MP. Mayor Arya Rajendran has sent a legal notice alleging that Jebi made defamatory remarks through the media during the protests staged by the Congress in the corporation.

The notice said that within seven days of receiving the notice, the statement should be retracted and apologized in writing, failing which civil and criminal legal action will be taken. The notice was sent via senior advocate Murukkumpuzha R Vijayakumaran Nair.

Jebi Mather insulted Arya during the protest staged by Mahila Congress. She came with a box after sticking a poster on it. The poster asked the mayor to leave to Kozhikode with the stolen money. When the incident became controversial, she came forward explaining that it was not intended as her husband's hometown. Her husband is Kozhikode Balussery MLA Sachin Dev. It was alleged that the MP had made such a remark against the mayor as her husband's hometown is Kozhikode.
