BEIJING: Chinese president Xi Jinping has warned US President Joe Biden not to cross ‘red line’, referring to America's stance on the Taiwan issue. Xi Jinping said that the world was big enough for their two countries to prosper and compete. The Taiwan issue was mentioned during the meeting between the two world leaders held in Bali as part of the G20 summit.

“Under the current circumstances, China and the United States share more, not less, common interests. Beijing does not seek to challenge the US or change the existing international order, calling for the two sides to respect each other”, Xi Jinping told Biden during three hours of talks in Bali, Indonesia, Beijing's foreign ministry said in a statement. “The Taiwan question is at the very core of China's core interests, the bedrock of the political foundation of China-U.S. relations, and the first red line that must not be crossed in China-U.S. relations”, informed Xi Jinping.

The statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry after the discussion between the two leaders stated that resolving the Taiwan issue is their internal problem. It is reported that the Russia-Ukraine issue was also discussed during Joe Biden's first meeting with Xi Jinping after becoming the US President.
