THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Raj Bhavan March, called by the Higher Education Protection Committee, started from the museum raising the slogan of protecting the higher education sector. CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury will inaugurate.
Ministers and Chief Minister are not participating in the march. CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that this is a strong popular movement. CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said that the governor should not act like a court.
The LDF leaders informed that one lakh people are lining up in front of the Raj Bhavan and tens of thousands in the gatherings held in the district headquarters. Educationists, scholars, teachers, political, social and cultural leaders are participating in the march. Following the Raj Bhavan March, traffic restrictions were imposed in the city from early morning.
