NEW DELHI: With just days remaining for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections, eleven leaders from the BJP joined the Aam Aadmi Party. These leaders include former ward vice president Pooja Arora, former Mahila Morcha vice presidents Chitra Lamba and Bhavna Jain. The Aam Aadmi Party said that the leaders from the Rohini ward joined AAP out of frustration that despite their hard work in the BJP, they were not given due consideration.

Eleven BJP leaders from Rohini's ward number 53 have joined the AAP today because their hard work was never acknowledged in the BJP. "They have been working hard for the last 15 years but every time they raised any issue related to garbage mismanagement in the area, authorities neglected them,' said senior AAP leader Durgesh Pathak.

Elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi are scheduled on December 4. Congress, BJP and AAP have announced 250 candidates. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on November 16 and results will be declared on December 7.
