BALI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a ceasefire in Ukraine at the G-20 summit. He was speaking at the working session of the summit which started yesterday in Bali, Indonesia.
"I have repeatedly said that we need to return to the path of ceasefire and diplomacy on the Ukraine issue. In the last century, the Second World War wreaked havoc all over the world. Then the leaders of the day tried for peace. It is our responsibility to create a new world order after covid. It is time to take a collective pledge to ensure peace, unity and security in the world. I am confident that when the G-20 summit is held in the land of Buddha and Gandhi next year, we will be able to send a strong message of peace to the world," Modi said.
