NEW DELHI: Amid the mass lay-offs due to financial crisis, now senior heads of social media platforms are resigning. Rajiv Aggarwal, Head of Public policy Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has submitted his resignation. It is reported that Abhijith Bose, head of WhatsApp India has also resigned.

WhatsApp has confirmed Abhijith Bose’s resignation in an official statement. Bose was the first CEO of WhatsApp in India. The company CEO Cathcart has wished him the best in his future endeavours. Meta has informed that Rajiv Aggarwal has resigned to pursue another opportunity. Meta India head Ajith Mohan resigned two weeks ago. Rajiv was replaced by Shivnath Thukral as head of Meta Public Policy.

Meta Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg announced last week that 13 percent of the employees that is 13,000 employees has been laid off due to financial crisis.
