THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a shocking incident, an inmate of a de-addiction centre in Vellanad in Thiruvananthapuram was killed by a fellow inmate. Vijayan (50), a native of Kazhakoottam, was killed by another inmate of the Karunasai De Addiction Center. According to sources, accused named Binoy hit Vijayan on the head with a plant pot.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening. Sources said that Binoy hit Vijayan on the head without any provocation. Although the authorities rushed Vijayan to the hospital, his life could not be saved. Binoy committed the crime and escaped from the de-addiction centre during the break hour. The Aryanad police said that they have started a search for him.
