THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala came forward supporting KPCC chief K Sudhakaran. He is an untainted secularist and while talking to the media, Chennithala said that he had spoken to him.
Chennithala said Sudhakaran has not expressed his willingness to resign. He himself will deny this. He added that Sudhakaran had explained that his controversial statement about Nehru was a slip of the tongue.
There were reports earlier that K Sudhakaran had sent a letter to Rahul Gandhi expressing his willingness to step down from the post of KPCC chief. The letter pointed health issues as the reason to step down.
Opposition leader V D Satheesan yesterday said Sudhakaran's statement that Jawaharlal Nehru made a compromise with communal fascists, as a serious one. He made the statement at an event organized on Children’s Day in Kannur. He said that Nehru was ready for a compromise by making RSS leader Shyama Prasad Mukherjee a minister.
