THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: While the investigation on the Thiruvananthapuram corporation letter controversy is going on, the recommendation letters written during the UDF rule have also come out. Left cyber groups have released letters sent by Congress leaders, ministers, MLAs, and MPs for various appointments. It is reported that the cyber groups are trying to defend the Left front and CPM through these letters at a time when opposition parties are using the Thiruvananthapuram corporation controversy as a political weapon.

The letters that said to have been sent by Congress leaders including KC Venugopal, AP Anilkumar, Shafi Parambil, Shahida Kamal, PC Vishnunath, and TN Prathapan, to ministers, including the then Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, for the appointment of lawyers have been come out. The leaked letters include the letter given by TN Pratapan demanding that DCC member Advocate CT Joffe be appointed as Public Prosecutor in the Thrissur District Court and the one written by PC Vishununath demanding that the former Youth Congress President be appointed as Public Prosecutor in the Muvattupuzha Sessions Court. However, the Congress leadership has not yet responded on the issue.
