KYIV: Poland president and NATO has given explanation in the incident where two people died due to missile strike in Poland border amid Russia-Ukraine crisis on yesterday. It has been found that the explosion was caused by Ukrainian air defense missile fired to defend Ukrainian territory against Russian cruise missile attacks. NATO is of the stance that the government's efforts to defend Ukrainian territories cannot be underestimated.

Poland president Andrzej Duda said that this was an unfortunate incident that occurred while trying to defend the Russian attack by using about 100 missiles, and that it was not an attack on the country. He said there was no evidence that it was a missile sent by Russia, but there was evidence that it was Ukraine's anti-missile defense system. He also opined that the lack of proof that Russia would attempt to attack a NATO ally.

An anti-missile defense system sent by Ukraine landed in Przewodow, a village in Poland. NATO also stated that there is no need for conflict between NATO and Russia. Following the attack, G7 leaders held an emergency round table meeting during the G20 summit the other day. The meeting was chaired by US President Joe Biden.
