MALAPPURAM: The Muslim League has decided to stop protest against KPCC president K Sudhakaran’s pro-RSS remark as he had expressed apology and corrected his mistake. The decision was taken in a meeting of high-level committee members and state officials held at Malappuram district committee office.

The High Command's intervention is proof that the Congress took the League's protest seriously. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan called League State President Sadiq Ali Shihab on phone. It is assured that they will be vigilant enough to ensure that such incidents do not recur. K. Sudhakaran also clarified over the phone that it was a slip of tongue. At the same time, the issue will be raised in the UDF meeting. League state general secretary PMA Salam said that it is honorable to accept one’s apology. The league has not demanded a warning or resignation from K Sudhakaran. The league hasn't had any trouble since being in the UDF. Those who expect anything else will be disappointed.

The League meeting has not decided whether to oppose the bill to remove the governor from the post of chancellor if introduced in the assembly.
