BENGALURU: A Malayali couple arrested and released on bail has been arrested again with hashish oil worth 7 crores. Sigil Varghese Mambarampil (32) from Kottayam and Vishnupriya (22) from Coimbatore have been arrested again for peddling of drugs. Both were tattoo artists in Bengaluru. They were arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru Police. Vikram (23), a resident of Madiwala in Bengaluru, who collects hashish oil from the couple and delivers it to the needy, has also been arrested along with them.
Vikram was arrested by the police with 80 grams of hashish oil in March last. Based on the information given by him, the police searched the house of Vishnupriya and Sigil. Following that, 12 kg of hashish oil worth 7 crores was found. They were recently released on bail in this case.
The couple lived in a rented house at Kothanur in North Bengaluru. They had done a drug dealing at Parappana Agrahara last Monday. The three were taken into custody while selling drugs to college students in the area. The police said the drugs were brought from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
Vishnupriya and Sigil studied together in a private college in Bengaluru. Later they rented a house and worked as tattoo artists. The police said both of them were into drug peddling under the guise of this. The police said as they wanted a luxurious life, got into the business.
