KOCHI: It has been alleged that the Youth Congress went too far in its protest against the incident in which a three-year-old boy fell into a sewage canal in Kochi city. The Youth Congress staged a protest in front of the Kochi Corporation by laying a half-naked five-year-old boy on the ground. The protesters had also sprinkled dry sticks and other materials on the boy's body as part of the protest.
At the same time, while considering the matter, the High Court asked who would be held responsible if something had happened to the child who had fallen into the canal. The court also directed the concerned officials to take action as soon as possible. The Corporation Secretary, who apologized for the incident, informed the High Court that slabs will be laid on the drains within two weeks. The lawyers brought the incident to the notice of Justice Devan Ramachandran this morning.
