THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Khadi Board Vice Chairman P Jayarajan has reacted to the reports which claimed that the government sanctioned Rs 35 lakh to buy a new car for the Khadi Board. In his Facebook post, Jayarajan stated that the decision to buy a new car was made since the old one needed to be replaced due to its advancing age.

'Khadi Board Vice Chairman has been using Innova car for the past ten years. The car has come to the point where it needs to be replaced now due to its age and use. With the car constantly undergoing repair work, it has become almost impossible to reach the destination on time. It is in such a situation that the Khadi Board obtained permission from the government to buy a new car.

The government has given permission to buy a vehicle worth a maximum of Rs 35 Lakhs (note, not necessarily Rs 35 Lakhs, but a maximum price of Rs 35 Lakhs). A new car is needed instead of an old car that is constantly breaking down and suffering from problems.

When the RSS men stormed into my house and attacked me, I used a cane chair as a shield. I don't have to live in fear of a bullet passing through the new car,' Jayarajan wrote.
