MALAPPURAM: Police have arrested a teacher at the Vengara Girls School in connection with the suicide of another teacher. Payyoli native Ramdas (44) was arrested on charges of abetment of suicide. Ramdas is a teacher in charge of student police at Vengara Girls School.

The police found that Ramdas had a close relationship with the deceased teacher. According to the police, Ramdas took advantage of his closeness to the teacher and put her under mental stress. She ultimately ended her life as a result of this. The teacher was seen hanging at her house in Kannamangalam in September this year. The police arrested Ramdas on the basis of diary notes and statements of witnesses. He was produced in Malappuram First Class Judicial Magistrate Court and remanded.
