ALAPPUZHA: The internal inquiry report, submitted by the five-member committee, concluded that there was no medical negligence on the part of the doctors of Alappuzha Medical College in the death of a mother and child following delivery. According to the inquiry report, the C-section was performed by experienced doctors and there was no delay in treatment or expert treatment. Aparna may already have heart problems, and the baby passed away during delivery, the report added. However, the report also noted a severe oversight in the reporting of the mother and child's health data. The report was handed over to the Superintendent of the Medical College.

The other day, the authorities had asked Dr Thanku Thomas Koshy of the Gynecology Department to go on compulsory leave following the protest of Aparna's relatives. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the Collector.
