THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan on Saturday said that MV Govindan has corrected Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the Muslim League issue. Satheesan said that the hopes of taking away the IUML from the UDF will never turn true. He was talking to media workers in Thrissur.
Meanwhile, following MV Govindan's comment, the Muslim League has come forward with a response. Panakkad Sadiqali Thangal said that League is an integral part of UDF. He added that it is a reality that the League is not a communal party and he doesn't see MV Govindan's words as an invitation.
There were rumours that MV Govindan's statement yesterday that the League is not a communal party but a democratic party was an invitation to the LDF. But the league's response in this regard is cautious. Kunhalikutty said that no other interpretation should be given to MV Govindan's statement. "Congress should consider a Uniform Civil Code. Wahab's criticism in the Rajya Sabha should be viewed positively.", he said.
