NEW DELHI: The dispute which broke out in the Congress in Himachal Pradesh over the CM post has finally come to an end. The Congress has officially declared Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu as the chief minister, putting an end to the drama. Mukesh Agnihotri will be the Deputy Chief Minister. The oath ceremony will take place tomorrow at 11 am. Observer Bhupesh Baghel made the announcement in the presence of PCC president Pratibha Singh, who had staked a claim for the post of chief minister. It is reported that Pratibha Singh's son Vikram Singh has also been included in the cabinet as part of consensus efforts.
Sukhvinder Singh benefited from the support of more MLAs. The party's position that a leader from the Rajput sect should be made the chief minister also benefited him. Sukhwinder Singh was elected for the fourth time from the Nadaun constituency in his native Hamirpur district. He was also the chairman of the election campaign committee.
Sukhvinder thanked the people of Himachal and the Gandhi family for giving Congress a resounding victory. He also announced that he will work for the development of the state and its people.
