THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains are battering the state. The central meteorological department warned of a possibility of widespread rains from tomorrow till Tuesday as a result of Cyclone Mandous. Yellow alert has been issued in various districts of the state today and tomorrow. The meteorological department said that isolated heavy rain with thunder will occur at isolated places in the districts of Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam in the next three hours.

Yellow alert has been sounded in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram today and Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur on Monday and Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur on Tuesday. 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain is expected in 24 hours.
