KOCHI: KPCC political affairs committee meet will be convened in Ernakulam at the Ernakulam DCC office at 10.30 am today. It is reported that ‘A’ Group and leaders including K Muraleedharan may raise the complaint that the political affairs committee was not convened despite the lack of public understanding on various issues such as the Vizhinjam strike and the spat between the governor and the government.

CPM state secretary M V Govindan praising the Muslim League will also be discussed in the meeting. Govindan stated that some of the important stands taken by the Muslim League in the past are in favor of secularism and whether it is the governor's safrronisation stand or the stance of communalizing the Vizhinjam movement, the League's stance is to uphold secularism.

The Muslim League later came responded to M V Govindan's first comment. Panakkad Sadiq Ali Thangal said the League is an integral part of the UDF. Thangal responded that it is a reality that the League is not a communal party and what MV Govindan said was not seen as an invitation.

The party's national general secretary P K Kunhalikutty also clarified that no other interpretation should be given to M V Govindan's statement. Congress should consider Uniform Civil Code. Kunhalikutty said P V Abdul Wahab’s criticism in the Rajya Sabha should be seen positively.

The opposition leader also responded on the issue. Satheesan said the intention of Govindan to create issues within the front will not work out.
