AHMEDABAD: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had cemented their place in Gujarat by securing five seats in the recent assembly elections. But now reports are coming out stating that these MLAs are joining BJP. It has been reported that five AAP MLAs are in constant touch with BJP and will soon join the party. It is also speculated that Bhupat Bhayani, MLA from Visavadar constituency will join BJP today.
But Bhayani had denied all such rumours and called them baseless allegations. Meanwhile, based on the remarks of certain BJP leaders, a national media reported that Bhayani would call a press conference today to announce his entry into BJP. It is informed that apart from Bhayani, Chaitar Vasava, Hemant Khava, Umesh Makawana and Sudhir Vangani are also in touch with BJP. Out of these five MLAs, three of them contested in AAP ticket as BJP denied a seat for them.
In the assembly elections, BJP has retained their power by securing 156 out of total 182 seats. Congress won only in 17 seats.
