THRIKKAKARA: It is reported that many doctors in the Ernakulam city also lost money through the stock investment scam. Some prominent doctors had invested crores of rupees in the ‘Masters Group’, owned by Kakkanad natives Ebin Varghese (40) and his wife Sreeranjini.

A doctor couple of a leading hospital has invested Rs1 crore 60 lakh from September 2020 to February 2021 and another doctor has invested Rs.61,52,000 from September 2021 to September 2022. This came to light only because they filed complaint. Apart from them, many engineers and advocates also fell into this trap.

Masters Group Vice President Vijil and marketing employee Anish were newly included in the accused list. Earlier, case was filed against Ebin Varghese, Sreeranjini and Jacob Shijo.

The police have now received 42 complaints in total. The victims of this financial fraud have formed a group which aims to fight legally to retrieve their lost money.
