KOCHI: The Chief Minister will inaugurate the fifth Kochi-Muziris Biennale today 6 pm at Kochi Parade Ground. The theme for the biennale is ‘In our veins flow ink and fire’. There will be stages at Ernakulam, Fort Kochi, and Mattancherry. The art show will continue till April 10th.
Ministers, KN Balagopal, P Rajeev, VN Vasavan, PA Muhammed Riyas, K Rajan, Hibi Eden MP, Kochi Mayor M Anil Kumar, MA Yusuf Ali, etc. will attend the inauguration ceremony.
There will be 200 art works of 90 artists from across the world. There are 33 Indian artists, including 10 Malayalees. Installations, paintings, statues, and digital art works will be on show.
After Covid, the biennale is being conducted with two years delay. It is estimated that 10 lakh people will visit the venue. The price of the ticket is Rs.150. For students it is Rs.50 and for senior citizens it is Rs.100. For one week the ticket rate is Rs.1000 and for a whole month it is Rs.4000.
