KOZHIKODE: Even though Harsheena underwent surgery to take out the forceps that got trapped in her stomach during a cesarean operation five years prior, she is back in hospital again. She was admitted at the Kozhikode Medical College because puss has formed where the surgery was done.

Harsheena is suffering from acute stomach and abdomen pain. Meanwhile, she complained that even after the Health Minister’s intervention there has been no action on the investigation report into the forceps incident.

Five years back, during a cesarean operation a forceps got trapped in Harsheena’s stomach. Her life was very difficult after that. She went to many hospitals for treatment. Two operations were done in the meantime. Finally, the forceps were found out in a scanning. Following that, the forceps were taken out in a surgery at Kozhikode Medical College.

After her ordeal got attention an investigation was announced by the Medical College Principal. But they did not even come to take evidence. When it became controversial, Minister Veena George ordered three doctors from outside the Medical College to submit a report. However, no follow up actions have been taken yet.

Harsheena said that she tried to contact the minister many times, but her PA usually attends the calls. The PA tells that the report has been received and action will be taken. After many days, Harsheena called the Minister’s personal phone and she said that a solution will be made.

Harsheena is asking for government help for her family, which is in debt due to her treatment.
