THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has turned down Governor Arif Mohammed Khan’s invitation for the Christmas feast. Neither Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan nor the ministers will attend the function. The government has not divulged the reason for it.

Opposition leader V D Satheesan is also not likely to attend. His office informed that the leader is going to Delhi tomorrow. Christmas celebrations and the feast are on Wednesday at the Raj Bhavan.

As the spat with the government continues, the governor invited them for the feast the other day. The Governor has invited the chief minister, ministers, speaker, opposition leader, chief secretary, departmental secretaries and religious leaders.

The Governor was not invited for Govt’s Onam celebrations held this year. The governor stayed away from government’s official programmes in protest against it.
