PALAKKAD: There is widespread protest against Minister K Radhakrishnan’s statement about the incident in which a pregnant tribal at Attappadi was carried on a cloth for 3.5 kms to reach the ambulance.

The Minister said that the distance 3 kms was the imagination of the media, and that in reality they had carried her only 300 meters. The lady’s husband and VK Sreekandan MP came forward against the Minister’s remarks.

Her husband, Murugan said that the ambulance reached only till Anavai Forest Camp Shed. They had called the vehicle of the Tribal Department but it did not show up. As it was raining the vehicle could not reach till the river below the hamlet they are staying. He asked that if the distance was only 300 meters then there was no need to carry his wife.

VK Sreekandan MP said that there is more than 3 km distance from Anavai to Kadukamanna. Without taking any action, the Minister makes fun of those who try to bring out the dismal situation.
