LUCKNOW: A man was arrested a day before the wedding for faking his identity and religion to his fiancee in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Haseen Saifi, who introduced himself to the young woman as Ashish Thakur, was caught by the police last Sunday. Their wedding was scheduled to take place on Monday.
Haseen and the woman became friends while living in Dadri, Greater Noida. Meanwhile, the young woman lost her job and Haseen took advantage of this to get closer to the woman. Later, he moved to a flat in Dadri with the woman. The accused had physical relationship with the woman and also forced her to marry him after recording obscene footage.
His lie was exposed when Haseen's father Shakeel Saifi reached the flat in search of his son. At that time, the woman and Haseen were not at home. Then Shakeel asked the neighbors for information. The neighbors informed the father that Ashish, not Haseen, was living in the flat. Later when the woman learned about the deception, she refused to marry Haseen and lodged a complaint with the police. Haseen was later arrested and charged with forced conversion, rape and cheating.
