terrorists

The hypocrisy of rejecting terrorists on one side and helping them with money on the other is generally the practice of the world's major forces. Although India has always opposed this, their voice has not been heard enough in the past. However, the situation of India today is different among the countries of the world. India is now a fast-growing economic force and hence, India's stand in international arenas has garnered a lot of importance. India had recently taken a very strong stand in the Security Council. India decided to abstain from voting on the resolution presented by the United States and Ireland in the Security Council to exempt humanitarian aid from the United Nations sanctions. India abstained, saying that the resolution is meant to isolate terrorists in the name of sanctions, and on the other hand to authorize the flow of money to the 'philanthropic' movements of the same terrorist organizations.

India's permanent representative to the UN, Ruchira Kamboj through a statement expressed concern over Pakistan's terrorist groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed making a mockery of sanctions and taking advantage of humanitarian aid. Pak terrorist organizations masquerade as charitable and voluntary organizations to evade sanctions. The money received under the guise of charity work is used by these terrorist groups to purchase weapons and recruit more terrorists.

India pointed in the statement that the groups banned by the Security Council are living in the shadow of the governments there in countries that are terrorist havens. Even though Pakistan was not named, it was clear that that is what India meant. Although India, which holds the chairmanship of the Security Council, opposed it, the resolution was accepted with the support of fourteen countries. Major power China's stand has always been to protect the leaders of terrorist groups and they do not hesitate to use veto power for that purpose.

India's representative in a note to the security council, pointed that major powers should stop distinguishing between good and bad terrorists in the world for the sake of political convenience. India’s stance is that all forms of terrorism must be opposed and ended. India's stance of wishing good to the whole world will be accepted in the near future.
