THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that the moves from the Governor's side are part of the attempt to fully saffronise the higher education sector. He said that the CPM in the state is giving a strong warning against this. The CPM leader said that the government did not oppose the democratic struggle that arose in connection with the Vizhinjam port, but opposed the attempt to unleash the riots.
MV Govindan, who accused the Congress party of obstructing the development process in the state, added that the government will complete the rehabilitation of people in Vizhinjam. He clarified that he only welcomed the secular stance taken by the Muslim League on issues such as the Vizhinjam issue, but did not invite the Muslim League to the LDF.
"I did not speak about the Muslim League for political or electoral gain. We will welcome those who come forward by correcting right-wing stance.
The door of the Left Front is not closed in front of anyone," he said.
Meanwhile, Muslim League leader KM Shaji had said that the Muslim League did not want the certificate of MV Govindan. "We don't have any issue even if Govindan says that the Muslim League is a communal party. He is inviting the Muslim League to the LDF as the second Pinarayi government has lost the support of the people," Shaji said.
