NEW DELHI: An order has been issued to increase aerial surveillance along the border after the military encounter near Yangtse at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, on the India-China border. China has deployed more helicopters in the area. Following that, India is increasing surveillance. India has put forward a proposal for commander-level talks in the wake of increasing tension with China.
It has been assessed that the presence of Chinese forces in Arunachal sector and Depsang has increased. Meantime, the forces said the video circulating on the India-China encounter is not the present one. However, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has confirmed that there was a conflict.
Rajnath Singh told Parliament that there is no compromise on the integrity of the country and the protest has been conveyed to China at the diplomatic level. Rajnath Singh made the statement in the Parliament after holding talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaisankar, army chiefs and diplomats.
Rajnath Singh alleged that the Chinese troops had crossed the Line of Actual Control in Tawang and tried to unilaterally change the status quo on the border. It was [prevented directly by the Indian forces. They bravely prevented Chinese troops from entering the Indian territory. No Indian soldiers were killed in the ensuing encounter and none sustained serious injuries. Soldiers on both sides sustained injuries. Rajnath Singh in his statement said the Indian Army has chased away the Chinese Army.
