THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A decision has been taken to convene the assembly session next month without the Governor’s customary policy address. The session will be convened next month as a continuation of the session adjourned the other day.

The rule is to begin with the Governor’s customary policy address when convening the first session of the New Year. Although the session was adjourned yesterday, no notification was released for the adjournment. So, the session to be convened next month is considered as a continuation of this session. However, the governor cannot be kept apart permanently except for avoiding the policy address for the time being. The Governor's customary policy address is required whenever the assembly convenes in the coming year.
