THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have registered a case of attempted rioting in the clash that broke out during the premiere of Nanpal Nerathu Mayakkam at the IFFK venue. A case has been registered against Kishore of Vazhuthacaud in Thiruvananthapuram, Mohammed Haneen (25) of Kollam and Niharika (21) of Thrissur.

The police have imposed charges including unlawful ganging. The FIR said they tried to enter the office of the theatre without a delegate pass or sufficient documents.
Meantime, Chalachitra Academy chairman Ranjith said that no complaint was lodged with the police. The incident happened on Monday. The delegates protested as they could not watch the film even after reserving at the Tagore Theatre.
