MALAPPURAM: A student was fatally knocked down by a goods auto. She has been identified as Shafna Sherin, daughter of Shafi of Pandimuttam. The accident happened Wednesday afternoon at Pandimuttam in Thanur Theyyala.

She was fatally knocked down by the goods auto when she was crossing the road from behind her school bus. The child was immediately taken to Tirurangadi taluk hospital and then to a private hospital, but her life could not be saved.

Shafna was a fifth-class student of Tanur Nannambra SNUP School. Only the driver was in the school bus. The information is that there were no helpers in the bus to drop the students.
