LUCKNOW: Police have arrested a man and his father for murdering his wife and later cremating her body 400 kilometres away. The incident took place in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh. The deceased has been identified as Dr Vandana Avasthi (28). The murder took place on November 26.

According to the police, the accused Dr Abhishek Avasthi and his father Gourishankar Avasthi beat her to death using a heavy object during a family dispute. Abhishek later confessed to the police that Vandana died due to the head injury.
